Jr Staff Ministry Information
What is the Jr Staff Program?
The Junior Cabin Leader program is an opportunity for youth aged 15 to 18 to be exclusively involved in the camp program as a volunteer. It develops leadership skills, relational skills and gives the young people involved an opportunity to serve. Jr Cabin Leaders will be given opportunities to lead games, activity and skills groups, cabin groups and learn more about how the camp program is run. Jr Cabin Leaders need to be available for at least 1 week of service during the summer, and a training weekend in the spring before camp (May / June 2010, Date TBA).
Who can apply?
If you are between the ages of 14 to 18 years of age you may apply to be a part of our Jr Staff. You need to be 14 before summer begins.
What will be expected of Jr Staff?
For one week (or possibly longer) you will be a part of the camp staff. Your responsibilities may include tasks in all parts of the program area. These tasks may include leading Bibles Study groups, Activity and Skill groups, Cabin groups, and helping set up areas of the program throughout the day. This program will give you the opportunity to take on more responsibility at camp while still being supervised to maintain a high level of safety for all campers. Being a part of the Camp Luther Staff is a demanding (and hopefully enjoyable) experience. Junior Cabin Leaders will be given time off on a rotating basis during the week. During this time you must remain on camp property. You will be responsible and accountable to the Program Director and/or Assistant Program Director while serving as a Junior Cabin Leader. Each Jr Cabin Leader will receive $10 wk /Canteen Credit, $50/wk served Camp Credit (Can be used @ Teen Camp, Fall or Winter Retreats), and 1- Staff T-Shirt.
If you are interested applications for summer 2010 will be online Jan 1, 2010.
