We are excited to announce that in the morning of the Camp Celebration Day, we have now merged our Walk-A-Thon and our annual Kahuner's Paddle, honoring the legacy of Annelise Rust, into The Legacy Paddle!
Kahuner's Paddle: Annelise Rust, whom we know by her camp name, 'Kahuner', was a beloved staff member at Camp Luther from 2011 to 2016. Kahuner was involved in a little bit of everything at Camp, from leading cabins and worship to participating in hilarious skits, and, from what we remember the most, leading canoe groups around Hatzic Lake.
Kahuner had one last paddle at Camp Luther on August 20th, 2016. We decided during Covid (Summer 2020) to honour Kahuner’s legacy by having a few friends come and paddle around Hatzic Lake with this little motto: We paddle the lake, gather as friends, and drink a cup of coffee to celebrate and remember Kahuner because this is exactly what she would want to be doing with each one of you.
This year we are inviting everyone to come and be a part of our morning by joining us for The Legacy Paddle.
If you would prefer to walk instead of canoeing, that is an option.
Participation is free! However, any donations made to the campership fund over $100 will receive a free camp t-shirt.
